Ukraine's new weapon is a laser
A few days ago, Ukraine unveiled its new weapon: a laser capable of shooting down aircraft two kilometers above the ground.
The system, which represents a significant technological breakthrough, can shoot down aircraft at altitudes of more than two kilometers, confirmed Colonel Vadym Sukharevsky, commander of the Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces.
“It really works, it really exists,” said Sukharevsky, pointing out that Ukraine was joining an exclusive group of countries with operational laser weapons. Although precise technical details were not released, the colonel emphasized the disruptive capability of the “Trident” in modern warfare.
This announcement adds to Ukraine's strategy of technological innovation, which also includes the development of “large drones” devices designed to deploy swarms of smaller, specialized drones. This technological breakthrough comes at a critical time for Ukraine, which is facing major Russian advances in the east of the country.
