Zelensky: 'May 2025 be our year'
Ukrainian President Zelensky hopes that 2025 will be the year when Ukraine no longer has to fight to end the conflict with Russia that has lasted for almost three years now.
Zelensky expressed that hope in an address to the Ukrainian people just before the clock struck midnight in Kiev. ‘We know that peace will not be given to us as a gift but we will do everything to stop Russia and end the war.’ he said.
The Ukrainian president also spoke of US President Joe Biden's support and his conversation with incoming President Trump. ‘I have no doubt that the new American president wants and will be able to bring peace and end Putin’s aggression,’ he added.
