Fires in Los Angeles: Pacific Palisades is entirely burnt
For several days, Los Angeles has been battling fires fueled by violent winds of up to 160km/h. Nearly 180,000 people have had to flee their homes.
Since the start of the fire, which broke out near Pacific Palisades before moving into the San Fernando Valley, the blazes have reached the Hollywood Hills, just a few hundred meters from the famous “Walk of fame”. And Hollywood stars are mobilizing.
Sharon Stone explained that she was preparing to take in victims of the impressive fires that have been causing chaos in Los Angeles for several days.
The actress explained: “We're setting up a place to help people. We're setting up beds all over the house. We're inviting our friends to come and stay with us, because a lot of people are being evacuated.”
The fires in Los Angeles have also forced the film industry to come to a halt.
In addition, a man has been arrested on suspicion of starting a fire. Authorities say several people were arrested for looting evacuated properties after the fires started.
