This Porsche broke the world record for electric drifting
In Finland, a production Porsche Taycan GTS drifted for 17.5km non-stop. A world record for an electric car! The driver at the wheel carried out his drifting laps on the frozen track of a test center.
Not to be repeated on the road! A Porsche test driver broke a world record during a winter testing at the Porsche Arctic Center in Levi, Finland, some 150km north of the Arctic Circle. The manufacturer's teams created a circle 59m in diameter to allow a Taycan GTS to drift. The drifting extravaganza lasted exactly 46 minutes and 132 laps. 132 laps during which driver Jens Richter used only the gas pedal and steering to let the car drift in a controlled manner, without losing his bearings. The total distance covered by the electric luxury sedan in this way, while turning in circles, was 17.503km. The performance certified by the Guinness World Record. The previous world record for an electric car was 14.809km. The Porsche Taycan GTS is equipped with all-wheel drive. Total power is 690 hp.
