The US president has said that if Elon Musk, his right-hand man, wanted TikTok, he'd be willing to facilitate its acquisition.

Elon Musk, the world's richest man and head of the US Department of Government Efficiency, has already spoken out about TikTok, saying it “shouldn't be banned in the US” and that “it would go against freedom of expression”.

According to Bloomberg a few days ago, the Chinese government was considering a plan that would involve Musk acquiring TikTok's US operations in order to avoid the app being vetoed.

Mr. Trump claimed that the app wasn't installed on his cell phone, but joked, “I might download it right now”. He went so far as to say that he had “a special affection” for the app, which he said helped him win the youth vote in the November 5 election.
