Elon Musk hits out at judge after huge pay package denied again
Elon Musk has slammed a Delaware judge’s decision to deny his astronomical pay package.
In a post shared on X, the world’s richest man called the verdict by Chancellor Kathaleen St. J. McCormick of the Delaware Court of Chancery "totally crazy" and labeled it "absolute corruption."
The compensation package, introduced in 2018, was initially valued at $56 billion but was rejected by the chancellor in January.
Thanks to Tesla’s soaring stock value, the package is now estimated to be worth $100 billion.
In her ruling, the judge argued that Tesla provided little justification for why Elon Musk deserved such a payout and suggested he had leveraged his influence to persuade the executive board to approve it.
Kathaleen St. J. McCormick upheld her ruling on Monday. "The large and talented group of defense firms got creative with the ratification argument, but their unprecedented theories go against multiple strains of settled law," she said.
