Biden administration ramps up military aid before Donald Trump takes office
The Biden administration is currently working to accelerate the delivery of weapons and military equipment to Ukraine before Donald Trump takes office in January.
Washington is making every effort to send as much aid as possible, anticipating that president-elect halt deliveries once he takes office. Donald Trump is also expected to reverse the authorization allowing Ukrainian forces to use ATACMS missiles on Russian soil.
A member of the U.S. administration told CNN that Washington is racing against time to ship as much military aid as possible before January 20, the date of Donald Trump's inauguration.
"DoD is undertaking a historic effort to move massive quantities of weapons into Ukraine in the next five weeks. Between now and mid-January, we will deliver to Ukraine hundreds of thousands of artillery rounds, thousands of rockets, hundreds of armored vehicles, and other critical capabilities," the official told the news outlet.
This development comes as Russian forces continue to make gains in eastern Ukraine.
