Europe not ready for modern war
A British army colonel has warned that Europe is not prepared for another global conflict.
Colonel Richard Kemp stated that Russia's invasion of Ukraine has forced Europe to reconsider how it manages conflicts, particularly in light of the new warfare techniques being deployed on the battlefield.
Richard Kemp, who previously commanded British forces in Afghanistan, emphasized that Europe must adapt and prepare for this evolving style of warfare.
Speaking to The Sun, he said: "What we've got, for the first time in recent history in Europe since the Second World War, the clash of two major uniformed armies. And that requires a different kind of mentality."
"What we're seeing... is an example of a conflict that is going to have a winner and a loser - much more stark than we saw in Afghanistan and Iraq. It's the development in weapon systems - and the two most important weapon systems that have been developed and proliferated," he added.
