“Bashar and Putin are the accomplices of this violence” judges Zelensky
Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, said on Tuesday that Russian President, Vladimir Putin, would take revenge if the regime of deposed Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad, fell.
The deposed former Syrian dictator fled the capital Damascus for Russia on Sunday with his family.
“Assad and Putin are much more than vassals and masters. They're complicit in the violence in Syria. Dictators like Assad cannot survive without dictators like Putin,” the Ukrainian president said on X.
Zelenski noted on Human Rights Day that hundreds of “heartbreaking images of Syrian prisons and torture chambers” were revealed after Assad fled to Russia. In these prisons, “thousands of people were beaten, tortured and raped”.
