Trump affirms that Zelensky's ready to make a deal
On Sunday, the Republican businessman called for an “immediate ceasefire” in Ukraine.
On his Truth Social media platform, the US president-elect also stressed the importance of negotiations to end the conflict in Ukraine.
He declared: “There should be an immediate ceasefire and negotiations should begin. Too many lives have been lost in vain, too many families have been destroyed, and if this continues, it could turn into something bigger, and much worse.” Donald Trump asserts that Kiev has “ridiculously” lost 400,000 soldiers and “many more civilians”.
In the written statement, the Republican also made it clear that Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky would like to “strike a deal” to stop the conflict. “Zelensky and Ukraine would like to strike a deal and end the madness,” he assured, following his meeting with the Ukrainian leader in Paris.
Donald Trump concluded: “I know Vladimir [Putin] well. It's time to act. China can help. The world is waiting!”
