Belgian prince wants to become Italian to work
King Philippe's brother, Prince Laurent, has publicly expressed his wish to settle in Italy with his family. He even intends to apply for Italian nationality to become "his wife's employee".
Prince Laurent's mother, Queen Paola, is Italian. He has owned a house in Italy for 10 years. According to him, these are sufficient arguments to apply for Italian nationality after leaving Belgium for Italy. The member of the Belgian royal family intends to settle there with his wife and children. Prince Laurent, younger brother of the current King of the Belgians, is 61 years old. He wants to make his dreams come true. "In Belgium, it's over for me," he stressed to SudInfo.
The princess as boss
Before expatriating, he's waiting for the 50 million owed to him by Libya in a case in which the Justice system ruled in his favor. Once in Italy, he will no longer be able to benefit from the royal endowment. On the other hand, he would like to reinvest the Libyan money with Princess Claire for an environmental project. And become his wife's employee to benefit from Italian social rights.
