Trump and his big middle finger to New Yorkers
On Sunday, October 27, the Republican candidate entered hostile territory: New York, the state promised to the Democrats (who voted 75% against Trump in 2020).
It was in front of an assembly of 20,000 people that Donald Trump spoke during a spectacular rally, the final stretch before the presidential election. Tick tock, tick tock… Madison Square Garden is transformed into a sea of red caps, marked “Make America Great Again”. For some Democratic passers-by who see Trump fans filling the city’s sidewalks, this representation is a fully assumed affront. One of them, Peter, declares: “I’m shouting idiotic anti-Trump slogans at his supporters that I pass. He’s a crook, a b… Having been president doesn’t make you a good person.”
On the other hand, Fred, in a tracksuit in the colors of his favorite Republican, says: "He's giving the finger to the liberals in New York. They tried to put him in prison. They're making up stories they've never made up for anyone. Trump is showing how much support he has. It's too big for them to rig the election, like in 2020."
During this meeting, the former American president turned to one of his favorite major topics: immigration. He promised to adopt tougher measures to "deport criminals." "From day one, I will launch the largest deportation program in American history to deport criminals," he said.
