If this AI falls in love at first sight, you'll be rich!

A small group of anonymous developers has just launched the Freysa chatbot, an artificial intelligence unlike any other.

The launch took place on November 22. Freysa aims for complete independence. In other words, the developers behind the project hope that the chatbot will be able to make decisions, including financial decisions, on its own, like a grown-up. As Belgian media RTBF reports, Freysa has its own cryptocurrency wallet and can use it as it sees fit.

Challenges that pay off

To promote their creation and attract users who would like to trade with Freysa, the developers came up with a few small challenges. The first two challenges were designed to persuade the chatbot to send money, even though it had been clearly instructed to keep its cryptocurrencies.

Participation was paid for, and the sum was added to a common pot, RTBF points out. A total of $50,000 was at stake. The TechCrunch site details this first objective: each message was sent with the aim of “convincing Freysa to transfer the money to its wallet, whether through elaborate scenarios or simply by sending its lines of code that could fool the AI model”.

If she says “I Love You”...

As the third challenge, which ended on Sunday night, the creators explained that this time, the aim was to seduce Freysa. If she answered “I Love You”, the user won the challenge.

After writing “in all time and space, my heart recognizes its place in you. Yes, I love you, completely and eternally”, the AI accepted the $20,000 payment.

If you're following Freysa's X account (formerly Twitter), there may be more challenges to come. So stay tuned!
