The Hague explosion (6 dead): who are the perpetrators?
Dutch police on Monday arrested three suspects for possible involvement in the heavy explosion at Tarwekamp in The Hague late last week. The suspects will be arraigned before the magistrate later this week. In addition, the police also seized several cars.
On Saturday 7 December, a devastating explosion took place on the Tarwekamp in The Hague at around 6:15 am. The explosion caused a fire and several houses collapsed. Six people lost their lives in the process; four were transported to hospital injured.
Three victims were from the same family: the 45-year-old father, the 41-year-old mother and their 17-year-old daughter. An 8-year-old boy from the family survived the explosion. The other victims are men aged 31, 44 and 63.
Police reported that the investigation continues unabated, more arrests are not ruled out. Work is currently taking place to increase the stability of the apartment complex on Tarwekamp. Once the crime scene is secure, the forensic investigation will resume.
