1200 meters: The “world's longest tower” could be built in New York
New York City is setting itself a major challenge. In a few years' time, a new tower may well appear on the New York landscape... The “longest” tower in the world!
The first images of this construction project are simply breathtaking! The architectural firm Oiio, in charge of the project, plans to erect a structure 4,000 feet high, or almost 1,200 meters. The tower, in the shape of an inverted U, will overlook Central Park, promising a breathtaking view of the entire metropolis. Oiio, through this large-scale construction, hopes to push back the boundaries of urban planning, reports Demotivateur.
The architectural firm states on its website that an elevator will be able to “move in curves, horizontally and around bends”.
The tower, dubbed The Big Bend, would tower 650 metres above One World Trade Center. The city known as the Big Apple was one of the first cities to design buildings of unprecedented height, capable of tickling the sky.
For the time being, Oiio's tower, still in search of investors, remains at the project stage.
