13 years after disappearing…a cat finds his entire family
On November 15, the president of the Mille et une Pattes association, Nathalie Giros, received an emergency call: a cat had been found “in a terrible state and indescribably skinny”.
Moved, Nathalie Giros confided to France 3: “I talked to him, reassured him, and my tears flowed in face of such misery and indifference on behalf of human beings. How many have passed by without even being noticed? The vet and I called the number on file. Alas, it was out of date”.
From there on, things went from bad to worse. The vet who had chipped the cat at the time was contacted by the association, and Nathalie was able to trace the cat back to its owners! Today, at the age of 17, the little furry cat has been reunited with his family, who had never forgotten him. A “Christmas miracle before its time”, according to the association's president.
The take-away message from this story? Don't forget to identify your pet. A microchip or tattoo will make it easier to find your pet if it goes missing.
