Moscow denounces France for attempting “dialogue” without Kiev
Russia's head of diplomacy, Sergei Lavrov, said as much at a recent press conference.
On Boxing Day, Sergei Lavrov claimed that France had tried to establish “a dialogue on the Ukrainian matter” with Moscow, without warning or involving Ukraine.
“I won't go into details so as not to disappoint anyone, but on several occasions our French colleagues have appealed through confidential channels: 'let us help, let's establish a dialogue on the Ukrainian issue'. Without Ukraine,” said the Russian diplomatic chief. “We didn't refuse,” he added, stressing that Russian officials were ‘ready to listen’.
