Putin backs Trump into his corner
Ukrainian President, Volodymir Zelensky, has said that Russian President, Vladimir Putin, is seeking to force the United States to “accept Russia's conditions”.
Zelensky responded to statements by Kremlin chief, Vladimir Putin, that the Russian army was already working to identify new targets on Ukrainian soil to attack with Oresshnik hypersonic ballistic missiles.
“This escalation on Putin's part is a form of pressure aimed at forcing the US president to accept Russia's conditions,” Zelensky said in his address to the nation last night.
The Ukrainian president also claimed that the Russian president's threats are an attempt to “sabotage the efforts” of US President-elect Donald Trump to end the war in Ukraine.
“Putin wants to escalate the situation now so that President Trump can't end the war,” said the Kiev leader, who called on his partners to respond forcefully to the Kremlin's ‘blackmail’ by redoubling their support for Ukraine.
