Putin's chilling message to the world

Russia recently shared a video showing a Soviet Union weapon that was used during World War II.

It's a D-74 howitzer, dating back from the 1940s. It was quickly replaced by the M-46 cannon, which had a much greater range than its predecessor, reports Midi Libre. Russia had thus liquidated its stocks of D-74s by sending them, in particular, to Vietnam and China, countries allied to the Soviet Union. This is the very reason why that there is concern about seeing this weapon reappear on the battlefield. It was recently used to attack Ukrainian forces in the Donetsk region.

In Ukraine, the general opinion is that North Korea is suspected of having delivered the weapon in question to Moscow.

According to the director of military analysis at the Washington think tank Defense Priorities, Jennifer Kavanagh, the use of this weapon would not be insignificant. This is a clear message from the Kremlin leader. "Making the use of the D-74 public could be a way for Russia to signal its ability to remain strong and continue fighting for some time to come."
