Less young women are wearing bras

Bras are increasingly being abandoned by women, especially those under 25. The "no bra" trend is gaining momentum in Europe.

More and more women are deciding to give up bras. This trend is particularly noticeable among young people under 25.

The successive lockdowns have taught us to live and dress differently. For several months, many women left their bras in the closet, experiencing a sense of comfort and regained freedom. When "normal" life resumed, some no longer wanted to wear this garment, which had previously seemed essential.

A survey by Ifop, reported by Le Parisien, shows that more than 1 in 10 French women under 25 do not wear a bra. This trend is visible throughout Europe and is part of the neo-feminism and body positivism movements.

The fact that part of the population is not wearing a bra is also explained by a feminist commitment that advocates the liberation of the female body. This neofeminism is also expressed, for example, in not removing hair.

In addition, body positivism, which puts comfort first, feeds this trend.
