Vitamin C: A major ally against skin ageing
The star molecule vitamin C, also known by its scientific name ascorbic acid, is a favorite ingredient among beauty addicts. And with good reason: it has many benefits for the skin!
Increasingly present in cosmetics, whether concentrated in a serum or diluted in a cream, vitamin C is ideal for skin lacking radiance. In winter, light is absent, spirits are low and the body's cells are feeling the consequences. There's nothing like a good course of this anti-dull complexion vitamin. Just as an apple darkens on contact with the air, so the complexion becomes dull through oxidation, and that's where vitamin C comes in. It's a powerful antioxidant, but not the only one:
First and foremost, it's a major ally in the fight against skin ageing. Not only does it ward off the effects of stress on the epidermis, it also acts as a formidable shield against external aggressors: pollution, urban climate, UV rays, tobacco...
This super-ingredient also enables the body to increase its production of collagen and elastin, the fibers responsible for skin elasticity. The result is plumper, firmer skin.
Finally, vitamin C has been tested on pigmentation spots, and helps them to disappear by reducing the concentration of melanin deep within the skin.
As you can see, its qualities are many. All that's left to do is to slip into a cocoon of adapted skin care products, formulated with this star compound, and give your skin a radiance that defies winter's greyness.
