Will there be a Barbie sequel?
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach are working on a sequel to the Barbie film that was a hit at the global box office in 2023.
Gerwig and Bumbach are said to have come up with an idea for a sequel to the film. They have already proposed it to Warner Bros. for production.
For the moment, these are just a few ideas, but two sources close to the couple have confirmed them to The Hollywood Reporter. In any case, we'll have to wait several months for the script to materialize, as Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach are currently working on other projects.
Baumbach is hard at work in post-production of his next film, an untitled, star-studded project for Netflix. Scheduled for release next year, the film stars Greta Gerwig, George Clooney, Adam Sandler, Laura Dern, Billy Crudup, Riley Keough, Jim Broadbent, Patrick Wilson and Emily Mortimer (who co-wrote the script). For her part, Gerwig is currently preparing her own film for Netflix, an adaptation of The Chronicles of Narnia.
