U.S. senator wants to ban self-gratification for men
A strange idea reaches us from the U.S. state of Mississippi.
If it depends on Bradford Blackmon, Democratic senator in the state of Mississippi, men who ejaculate without intending to fertilize an embryo will be able to be fined up to $1,000 (941 euros) for a first offense.
Indeed, the bill introduced Monday imposes fines of $1,000 for a first offense, $5,000 for a second offense and $10,000 for all subsequent offenses. In practice, the bottom line is that for men, masturbation and all other sexual acts other than intercourse would be banned if they result in ejaculation.
It seems that the Democratic senator's main goal with his proposal is to put primal conservative politicians in their place and make them think about the restrictive political measures taken in the U.S. regarding abortion and contraception. After all, politicians make decisions about women's bodies and health, and Senator Bradford Blackmon seems to want to point out with his proposal that men's bodies and health can also be touched with political decisions.
