“It wasn't easy":Two North Korean soldiers interrogated by Ukrainians
On Saturday, January 11, Kiev claimed to have captured and interrogated two soldiers presented as North Korean.
This is the first time since Ukraine and the West accused North Korea of deploying troops in Russia to support its ally. While Russian soldiers are doing their utmost to erase any evidence of North Koreans on the front line, two fighters were captured and subjected to interrogation by Ukrainians. “This was no easy task: generally speaking, the Russians and other North Korean soldiers finish off their wounded and do everything they can to erase evidence of the participation of another state, North Korea, in the war against Ukraine,” said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
At the end of December, Volodymyr Zelensky had announced that North Korean soldiers, suffering from serious injuries, had lost their lives after being taken prisoner in the Russian Kursk oblast.
