Russia recruits North Korean mercenaries
Moscow doesn't directly involve North Korean mercenaries in combat operations in the Kursk region; they hold checkpoints.
According to a report by the National Resistance Center, the North Korean soldiers have been subordinated to the Russian 11th Air Assault Brigade. Currently, they're tasked with manning observation and control posts, as well as monitoring areas where enemy forces are concentrated.
“However, the mercenaries aren't currently involved in direct combat operations,” the statement said.
The National Resistance Center (NRC) stressed that the presence of North Korean troops has enabled the Kremlin to redeploy more Russian soldiers to the front lines.
The NRC also urged the public to continue to provide any information that might help the Ukrainian defense forces to effectively counter enemy activity.
NATO Secretary General, Mark Rutte, has stated that Russia is supplying North Korea with missiles and nuclear technology. In exchange, North Korea is sending soldiers to Russia.
