War in Ukraine: Donald Trump sees ‘little progress’
Donald Trump has said that he sees progress toward ending the conflict in Ukraine as he prepares to return to the White House.
The winner of last November’s U.S. presidential election said during a press conference that he observed "progress" despite the conflict being "violent."
"We’re trying to get the war stopped. That horrible, horrible war that is going on in Ukraine with Russia. We’ve got a little progress. It is a tough one, it is a nasty one," he said.
The future head of state lamented the level of devastation caused by the war, adding that the losses on both sides are far greater than what is reported in the media.
"Everyone is being killed, it’s the worst carnage that this world has seen since WWII. It has got to stop," he added.
The president-elect’s team is already working on a plan to bring both parties to the negotiating table, and Donald Trump suggested that Moscow and Kyiv will need to make concessions to reach an agreement.
