Zelensky reacts to 90-day suspension of US aid

US military aid to Ukraine won't be suspended, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told a press conference.

This statement follows the US State Department's decision to suspend foreign aid for 90 days.

The President said he wasn't yet ready to comment on the US State Department's decision, but stressed that military aid to Ukraine would not be interrupted.

“I know there are restrictions, we need to look at them in detail. The restrictions are on humanitarian programs for 90 days...I'm focusing on military aid, and it hasn't been stopped, thank God,” Zelensky said.

The Pentagon confirmed that this decision didn't affect military aid to Ukraine.

On January 24, the US State Department ordered the cessation of operations of existing international aid programs and the suspension of new programs. Part of Ukraine's humanitarian aid has been frozen.

In addition, according to the New York Times, the US has suspended several programs to welcome immigrants, including Ukrainian refugees.
