Huge embarrassment for Chinese navy: extremely expensive nuclear submarine sinks instantly
A brand new and extremely advanced nuclear submarine sank in China before it could even leave the shipyard.
This was the most advanced nuclear submarine in China's arsenal. This first Zhou-class submarine is a new kind of submarine characterized by its X-shaped stern, which is said to promote maneuverability. But the Chinese navy has not been able to put this high-tech feat of underwater transport into service because the submarine sank as early as the Wuchang shipyard, near Wuhan. So reports the Wall Street Journal. The incident already happened several months ago, in May, but the Chinese government reportedly tried to cover up the incident. But the news has been discovered anyway based on satellite images. The vessel is said to have already been salvaged, but it would be at least months before the nuclear submarine could be used again.
