Alertes aux avions de chasse en Pologne

Polish authorities have announced an increase in noise levels in southeastern Poland. This warning is linked to the massive deployment of Polish and NATO fighter jets on Monday.

The large wave of Russian attacks on Ukraine has prompted Poland to strengthen the protection of its airspace. A message from the Polish Operational Command on X (formerly Twitter) warned the population: "Warning, there may be an increase in noise levels in the southeastern part of the country due to operations in our airspace by Polish and allied aircraft. Since the early hours of this morning, intense long-range air activity of the Russian Federation has been observed. It is linked to strikes on objects located, among others, in the western territory of Ukraine."

Ready to retaliate

The Russian attack on Ukraine on Monday, August 26, used drones, but also bombers. Poland and its allies want to ensure that NATO airspace is not being violated, all the while being able to respond immediately to any incursion. This is why the alert message from the Polish operational command also specifies that "[…] All necessary procedures to ensure the security of Polish airspace have been activated and the operational command is monitoring the situation constantly." A flying device was also detected in Polish airspace on Monday morning.
