A tea that reduces the risk of heart disease

Cardiovascular diseases, such as heart attacks and strokes, are the leading causes of death worldwide.

A study has shown that the risk of these conditions can be significantly reduced by drinking rooibos tea.

Participants in the study drank six cups of rooibos tea every day: all seemed to have a much better lipid profile, with lower levels of “bad” cholesterol (LDL) and higher levels of “good” cholesterol (HDL).

Of course, other dietary habits can reduce the risk of heart disease. These include a moderate intake of saturated fats, such as those found in “fatty” cuts of meat, cream, pastries and cookies.
