The Taylor Swift concert that caused the biggest earthquake in history
A recent study by the Seismological Society of America (SSA) reveals which concerts have shaken the planet the most.
American seismologists looked at music fan gatherings to determine which ones shook the earth the most. Unsurprisingly, it was one of Taylor Swift's concerts that topped the list of the most powerful phenomena observed.
On July 22, 2023, the singer took to the stage at Lumen Field in Seattle, Washington, attracting no fewer than 72,171 spectators. During this huge gathering, fans generated an earthquake of magnitude 2.3, according to the analyses of Jackie Caplan-Auerbach, seismologist and professor of geology at Western Washington University.
