New York: Banana taped to a wall was sold for over $6 million
Entitled Comedian, this work of art caused a sensation at an auction in New York (USA).
Italian conceptual artist Maurizio Cattelan, with his banana stuck to a wall, delighted Justin Sun, founder of cryptocurrency platform Tron. “It's not just art. It represents a cultural phenomenon that creates bridges between the worlds of art, memes and the cryptocurrency community,” he declared. Justin Sun announced that he would be “eating the banana to make it a unique artistic experience and honor its place in both art history and popular culture”.
The Chinese-American entrepreneur fell in love at first sight, and since love doesn't count pennies, he paid the generous sum of $6.2 million to acquire this astonishing work.
